Schiphol’s cargo combines with marketing department

Schiphol Cargo, the cargo operation of Amsterdam Airport, will be merged with the Aviation and Marketing Department, effective April 1.

Schiphol Cargo, the cargo operation of Amsterdam Airport, will be merged with the Aviation and Marketing Department, effective April 1.
The airport said Maaike van der Windt will head up the new Aviation Marketing and Cargo Division, replacing Jonas van Stekelenburg, who led Schiphol Cargo for nearly three years.
Van der Windt has two decades of experience working in the aviation industry and joined Schiphol Group as head of aviation marketing last year after working in a number of senior management roles for Australia’s Brisbane Airport.
“The new structure will ensure that cargo is robustly represented in the future,” van der Windt said.
“Furthermore, we recognize the importance of belly capacity beside full freight capacity, and aligning cargo with passenger network and business development ensures we optimize opportunities,” she added.
