The Israeli ocean carrier will implement software provider INTTRA’s eVGM service, which will help shippers comply with the new verified gross mass rule that took effect July 1.
Israeli ocean carrier ZIM said it will implement INTTRA’s eVGM solution, which will facilitate compliance by the carrier and its customers with the International Maritime Organization’s new verified gross mass (VGM) rule requiring verification of container weights prior to being loaded onto a vessel.
The INTTRA eVGM service provides the operational capabilities for digital submission, receipt, processing and auditing of SOLAS-compliant VGMs for shippers and carriers. ZIM’s customers using INTTRA’s e-commerce solutions will be able to submit VGM information through a variety of channels, including EDI, XML, the web, mobile devices and e-mail.
