The Alpharetta, Ga.-based cold chain solutions provider began development of a 9,000-square-meter, temperature-controlled warehouse on the Maasvlakte at the Port of Rotterdam.

Cold chain solutions provider AGRO Merchants Group has begun development a 9,000-square-meter, temperature-controlled warehouse on the Maasvlakte at the Port of Rotterdam.
The new building, which is expected to be operational in December 2016, will mainly focus on import and export handling, along with the storage of frozen and chilled products, AGRO Merchants Group said.
The building will feature a capacity of 18,000 pallet positions. In addition, the site will contain mobile racking and pallet conveyor systems, along with additional space for product repacking, blast freezing and tempering services; and an integrated border inspection point with separate office facilities.
“This is phase I of the development in which we expect to double capacity in the next two years,” AGRO Merchants Group Europe President Carlos Rodriguez said. “Veterinary inspection point facilities along with other related services will be relocated to this site from Coldstore Wibaco.”
AGRO Merchants Group was founded in January 2013 and owns and operates 53 facilities located in the United States, Brazil, Chile, Austria, Ireland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
