Service Announcements: CMA CGM and Murphy Logistics

CMA CGM takes delivery of two new containerships, and Murphy Logistics opens two warehouses in Kansas City.

The CMA CGM Group said its newest container vessels, CMA CGM Loire and CMA CGM Ural, were delivered Feb. 5 and entered the fleet Feb. 13-14.
They are the fifth and sixth vessels of the 9,400-TEU to 10,900-TEU series that will be delivered from now until the third quarter of 2016. The CMA CGM Danube, CMA CGM Elbe, CMA CGM Litani, and CMA CGM Tigris are the first of this series of 28 vessels named after famous rivers of the world that started to be delivered on June, 30 2014, the French liner carrier said.
The CMA CGM Loire has a nominal capacity of 9,365 TEUs and the CMA CGM Ural a 10,622 TEUs capacity.
The CMA CGM Loire will operate in the carrier’s Bosphorus Express (BEX) service, and the CMA CGM Ural has joined its Mediterranean Club Express (MEX) service.

Murphy Logistics, based in Minneapolis, has added two logistics campuses in Kansas City, Mo.
The two facilities total 150,000 square feet, tripling the amount of space Murphy operates in Kansas City. The sites also offer rail access.
In 2012, Murphy expanded out of Minnesota for the first time in the company’s 110-year history, leasing a 50,000-square-foot facility in Kansas City’s Paseo Industrial District. Murphy currently operates more than 2.8 million square feet with 13 logistics campuses in Minnesota and Missouri.
