The supervisory board of Deutsche Post DHL Group has appointed Melanie Kreis to succeed Lawrence A. Rosen as chief financial officer of the German mail and logistics conglomerate.
Lawrence A. Rosen will retire as chief financial officer of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, effective Sept. 30, 2016, according to a statement from the company.
Rosen has served as CFO of the German mail and logistics conglomerate for more than seven years and over thirteen years as CFO of DAX-listed companies.
He will be succeeded in the role by Melanie Kreis, a member of the board for Human Resources since 2014 and previous chief financial officer of DHL Express. Kreis started her career with McKinsey & Company in 1997, before moving to Apax Partners Private Equity, and eventually joining Deutsche Post DHL in 2004, where she focused primarily on international mergers and acquisitions.
Following the Group’s acquisition of Exel in 2005, she moved to Bracknell, UK, to lead the company’s logistics integration effort, and was “instrumental” in planning and executing the sale of Postbank to Deutsche Bank.
“Larry Rosen very successfully implemented a long-term capital markets strategy and established truly world class finance processes and practices. As a result, Larry has made significant contributions to the market position of Deutsche Post DHL Group,” Wulf von Schimmelmann, chairman of the supervisory board for Deutsche Post DHL Group, said of Rosen’s retirement.
“Melanie Kreis has significantly improved our HR processes, reinforced a trustful and constructive dialogue with our social partner and further strengthened our international HR focus. As an experienced leader with proven expertise in finance, including a broad range of management competencies, she will make an important contribution towards the successful execution of Strategy 2020,” added Deutsche Post DHL Group CEO Frank Appel.
Meanwhile, the company’s supply chain division has appointed Oscar de Bok as the new CEO for the Mainland Europe, Middle East and Africa (MLEMEA) region. De Bok is taking over the role following the departure of Paul Graham, who left the company due to “personal reasons.”
He will report directly to John Gilbert, CEO of DHL Supply Chain.
“With Oscar de Bok as CEO for MLEMEA we appointed a seasoned leader with more than 25 years of global industry experience in logistics,” said Gilbert. “I am convinced that he is uniquely qualified to continue the next development phase of our change and growth journey in Europe, Middle East & Africa.”
De Bok joined DHL in 1992 and has held various management positions in Sales, Project Management, Operations and General Management in European and Asian markets. Most recently, he was CEO Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain.
