UPS adds midday overseas freight delivery service

UPS has started an international guaranteed midday freight delivery service for cargo originating in 71 countries and shipped to 35 destination countries.

   UPS has started an international guaranteed midday freight delivery service for cargo originating in 71 countries and shipped to 35 destination countries.
   The express carrier has committed to time-definite deliveries of 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. for urgent palletized shipments of more than 150 pounds within its UPS Worldwide Express Freight service.
   “Delivery is door-to-door in as few as 1-3 days, with customs brokerage included,” UPS said.
   “We have customers in the industrial, auto, high tech, and healthcare fields that need shipments fast and sometimes end of day just isn’t soon enough,” John Miltenis, UPS’s vice president of international marketing, said in a statement.  
   Also starting this year, UPS Worldwide Express Freight service has expanded to Lebanon, Latvia, and Lithuania and added outbound service to Saudi Arabia. 
   For palletized cargoes in general, UPS offers the following international delivery transits:
     • One or two business days to the U.S. from Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas;
     • One or two business days from Hong Kong to the U.S., Asia Pacific, Europe and Canada; 
     • And two or three business days to Europe from Asia Pacific, the U.S. and the Americas.
   In addition, UPS recently announced the expansion of UPS Worldwide Express to include more than 7,000 postal codes in 57 countries. The express service now offers guaranteed midday delivery by 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., or 2 p.m. for small packages and envelopes to 124 counties.
