Menlo adds liquor warehousing work

Menlo Worldwide Logistics has agreed to provide JF Hillebrand Singapore with warehousing and inventory management services for its client, whisky distiller William Grant & Sons.
Menlo, which has six locations in Singapore, will carry out the duties from a 320,000-square-foot warehouse.
Menlo’s services will include customs permit declaration, container trucking, storage, bond-to-bond transfer, delivery to port, container clearance, and product unloading, labeling and repacking.
“We needed a partner in Singapore that was not only well-established in the region but that also had experience serving the needs of the wine and spirits industry,” JF Hillebrand Singapore’s branch manager Ken Goh said in a statement. “Because we’ve worked with Menlo for a number of years, we knew they were an outstanding logistics services provider with customs expertise and a number of locations in Singapore. All these capabilities were critical to helping us hit the ground running with our customer.”
Menlo’s parent company, Con-way Inc., saw a year-over-year rise in third-quarter revenues to $1.4 billion, leading to a net income of $25.3 million, down from $29.1 million in the third quarter of 2011. – Jon Ross
