3PL veteran starts Allport Cargo Services USA and Suttons Group names new chairman, while Röhlig names Germany ocean cargo manager and Avianca picks interim CEO.
Bill Aldridge, an industry 3PL veteran, has launched Allport Cargo Services USA Inc. in partnership with John Lau, founder and chairman of the Cargo Services Group in Hong Kong with global operations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. “We believe the combination of Cargo Services extensive presence and proven origin management expertise partnered with our team’s decades of best in class operating experience makes for a unique and compelling value proposition for clients across all verticals in North America, particularly the retail sector,” Aldridge said. ACS USA’s North America headquarters is located in Bloomfield, N.J.
Suttons Group has appointed Graeme McFaull as chairman. He replaces the company’s longstanding chairman, Michael Sutton, who died in May 2015. Graeme was previously chief executive at Wincanton Plc.
Edward Milanovic has been named the sea freight manager in Germany for logistics services provider Röhlig. He started with the company earlier this year. Milanovic was most recently manager for sea freight products and sales development with UTi Worldwide in northern, central and eastern Europe.
Avianca Holdings has appointed Álvaro Jaramillo Buitrago interim chief executive officer, until the airline finishes the recruitment of a new CEO. Jaramillo replaces Fabio Villegas Ramirez whose tenure as CEO ended Jan. 17. He also served as CEO of Avianca S.A. from 1991 to 1993, CEO of Banco de Colombia, among other financial institutions in Colombia.
