Chairish, an online marketplace for furniture and home decor, has launched a packing and shipping service for its sellers.
Rather than packing items themselves, sellers using Chairish’s Drop Off & Go service can just print a shipping label, which includes a prepaid packing code, and drop off their goods at the nearest The UPS Store.
Chairish said it offers sellers a fixed packing cost based on the size of their items. All items shipped using the new service will be insured against loss and damage, with coverage provided to Chairish through UPS Capital Insurance Agency.
The U.S. home furnishings category historically has been slow to move online, in part due to the challenges of shipping, Chairish said, adding that this obstacle has been particularly pronounced for small businesses and private individuals, who comprise its selling community.
