SHIPPER.COM TO OFFER SAME-DAY E-COMMERCE DELIVERIES

A start-up warehousing and delivery firm called Shipper.com plans to
offer same-day delivery services for goods bought on-line in three major
U.S. cities by the end of the year.
Based in Los Angeles, Shipper.com said it will be able to offer same-day
delivery for Internet retail goods at rates below the price of next-day air delivery.
Same-day shipping costs will range between $10 and $15 the company said.
To provide the service, Shipper.com will store fast-selling on-line
products in warehouses near major cities and make deliveries using local trucking
concerns.
Shipper.com said that it is already providing same-day delivery for
Internet retailers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The company will add an U.S. East
Coast city by November and two more U.S. cities in the first quarter next year.
