SGL takes majority stake in Malian 3PL

Danish company aims to better serve customers moving goods through West African ports.

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has acquired a 55 percent stake in Bamako, Mali-based Macca Logistics, which includes offices in the West African ports of Dakar, Senegal and Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Denmark-based SGL said its majority stake in Macca will allow it to better serve both government agencies, nongovernmental organizations and commercial shippers moving goods into Mali.
“Macca is an asset-based company with [its] own trucks, low-beds, off-road trucks and cranes to full-service our mutual clients,” said Henrik Vind Kragh, head of SGL’s department for ocean charters and relief, in a statement.
