Pierre Timmermans, Marek Staszek and Chris Austin have new roles.
DB Cargo announced Monday that it was making changes to its management board, “preparing Europe’s largest freight operating company for further growth with an international management team.”
Pierre Timmermans was appointed as the new board member for sales and marketing, effective April 1. Marek Staszek, current CEO of DB Cargo Polska, will move to the management board of the parent company on Feb. 1.
Timmermans, a Dutchman, has more than 20 years of rail experience and logistics expertise. He has served as CEO of Czech rail freight operator AWT, CEO of the PSA International container port group and as a board member and the head of contract logistics for Frans Maas.
Raimund Stüer, the previous board member for sales and marketing, left the group on Nov. 30 by mutual agreement.
Staszek, a native of Poland, has served on the management board of DB Cargo’s Polish national company since 2010, first as a board member for finance and since 2014 as chairman of the management board and CEO. His previous positions have included CFO of PCC Rail S.A. and CEO of PTKiGK in Rybnik.
Michael Anslinger, currently the member of the management board for production, will take on new responsibilities at DB Group.
“By bringing Pierre Timmermans and Marek Staszek on board, we are not only adding two industry experts to our team, we are also gaining international expertise so that we can grow in Europe,” said Alexander Doll, chairman of the supervisory board. “There is enormous potential for rail freight transport in Germany and on European routes, and we need to take advantage of those opportunities.”
MTC Logistics has named Chris Austin as general manager of Port of Mobile operations.
“Chris has a strong background managing high-volume, port-centric temperature-controlled distribution centers, and we are excited to have him as general manager of our new Port of Mobile distribution denter,” said Andrew Janson, MTC Logistics chief operating officer. “He will be an integral part in developing the final facility design, helping oversee construction and building staff for the Mobile project.”
Austin most recently served as senior vice president for a large international temperature-controlled logistics provider and was responsible for managing eight distribution facilities throughout the Southeast.
