COSCO REPORTS HIGHER REVENUES
China Ocean Shipping Co., the parent company of COSCO Container Lines and
COSCO Air Freight, said that its transport revenues increased during the first quarter of
the year.
COSCO Container Lines, also known as COSCON, had a 22-percent jump in revenue
during the first quarter.
COSCO Air Freight’s revenue was 66 percent higher than in the first
quarter of 1998.
The Chinese shipping group did not disclose exact revenue figures.
COSCO said that the operating situation of its bulk shipping fleet,
general cargo fleet and oil tanker fleet is also better than in the same
period of last year.
