Edwards is new head of ADS Logistics

Illinois-based ADS Logistics LLC, a provider of integrated logistics and supply chain services to the metals industry, has promoted William M. Edwards to president and chief executive officer.

Edwards joined ADS in 2001 as the general manager for its warehousing and distribution division, Roll & Hold and in the following year was promoted to vice president. In 2007 he was given the added responsibility for the Western Intermodal division.

He replaces former president and CEO Stephen Fraser, who left the company earlier this year to “pursue other interests.”

“Edwards is strategy and growth driven and has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the company's aggressive expansion plans that have helped shape the present state of ADS,” said Tim MacKenzie, ADS chairman.

Other senior management changes at ADS include William Ritter as vice president for the flatbed trucking division, Area Transportation (AREA), and the promotion of Jeff McCord to take over from Edwards as vice president for Roll & Hold and Western Intermodal. Ritter returns to AREA after a seven-year leave to work with major van and flatbed carriers. McCord has been with ADS since 1990 and was most recently assistant vice president for both Roll & Hold and Western Intermodal.
