RedPrairie issues new release of TMS product geared to 3PLs
Waukesha, Wis.-based supply chain software firm RedPrairie said Tuesday it has released an upgraded version of its branded Transportation Management System that provides additional functionalities to third-party logistics providers.
The latest release includes a consignment booking portal, easier and more precise client billing and contract management, and an expanded collaboration portal — a component that allows customers, shippers, carriers, vendors and stores to share information and jointly manage shipments online.
'3PL providers face additional challenges beyond those of most shippers,' said Erv Bluemner, RedPrairie's vice president of product strategy, 'They need tools to manage client contracts, correctly price and bill their services, and effectively communicate with customers and carriers. This new transportation management release provides those 3PL tools while offering a portal that speeds and simplifies interaction between all trading partners.'
