Uber Freight and FreightWaves are throwing you a Texas-sized party

The Glass Cactus in Grapevine, Texas.

Make Waves with Uber Freight!

Uber Freight and FreightWaves have partnered on a unique event for the transportation industry: a night of live entertainment, food, and fun at our MarketWaves18 conference in Grapevine, TX. On Monday night, November 12, Uber Freight and FreightWaves will host a party called Waves After Hours with Uber Freight at the Glass Cactus Nightclub for conference attendees.

The Glass Cactus is a 39,000 square foot venue with 180 degree views of Lake Grapevine, located about a mile from the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center where MarketWaves18 will be held. Uber Freight and FreightWaves are creating a unique experience for the transportation and logistics industry, with free beer, wine, and liquor, a Texas BBQ dinner, and live entertainment in a beautiful indoor/outdoor space. Amenities include four separate bars, a dance floor, and 13,000 square feet of outdoor deck on two floors overlooking the lake. We’re bringing back the fabulous Emerald City Band that rocked Transparency18.

There will be one piece of business at Waves After Hours with Uber Freight: the best-in-show winners from the conference’s demo day will be announced.

“We are thrilled that Uber Freight is joining FreightWaves to bring the transport and logistics industry together in a night of fun and entertainment,” said David Bradford, FreightWaves EVP of Community Engagement.

It’s exciting to partner with Uber Freight: like us, Uber Freight is an up-and-coming voice in the logistics industry. Uber Freight leverages technology to help drivers match with the right load at the right time through the Uber Freight app, while giving shippers a direct plug in to a robust, reliable network of carriers. The company aims to take the headache and inefficiency out of what is often a complex and time-consuming process for both shippers and carriers by putting the power of Uber’s technology into their hands and opening up new opportunities across the freight industry.

Last week, FreightWaves covered Uber Freight’s Powerloop, a new, universal trailer pool initiative designed to help shippers be more efficient and drivers run more miles. Other recent offerings include Uber Freight for Shippers, a platform for shippers to find and book trucks more efficiently. Uber Freight rolled out these products to further its goal of revitalizing the logistics industry with technology and helping freight move seamlessly and effortlessly around the country.
