FreightTech Award 2020

FreightTech Top 100 companies and Freighttech Top 25 companies

Methodology

The FreightTech 25 is determined by a simple points system based on how each voter ranks the transportation industry’s most innovative and/or disruptive freight tech companies. A company receives 25 points for each first place vote, 24 for second and so on through to the 25th company, which receives one point. The rankings are set by listing each company’s point totals from highest to lowest. The mathematical formula is the same as the one used for the Amway College Football Coaches Poll, the AP Pro32 rankings and the AP Top 25 rankings for men’s and women’s college basketball.

Nominations

Nominations closed October 5th, 2019. All required fields must be completed in order for the nomination to be considered for the FreightTech 100. FreightWaves and KSM are the only companies active in freight not eligible for nomination. A company must be actively innovating in freight to be considered for the FreightTech 100.

Voters

FreightWaves has hand-picked a peer group of CEOs, industry leaders and investors actively investing in freight to participate as voters. The voters will vote annually upon receipt of the electronic voting form from the independent accounting firm. FreightWaves will publish the list of voters in advance of the voting process.

Voting

Using the FreightTech 100 list, each voter will rank 1-25 those companies that they think are the top 25 most innovative companies in freight. Voters can vote for their own company if it is on the FreightTech 100 list. A company on the FreightTech 100 list can only be ranked once per voter. A company receives 25 points for each first place vote, 24 for second and so on through to the 25th company, which receives one point. The rankings are set by listing the companies’ point totals from highest to lowest.
