A.P. MOLLER/MAERSK PROMOTES THOMSEN, ANDERSEN TO PARTNERS
Tommy Thomsen, president of Maersk Inc., the U.S. arm of Maersk Sealand, and Kjeld Fjeldgaard, head of Maersk Oil and Gas, will be promoted to partners of the A.P. Moller group, effective July 1.
The two senior executives will join the other group partners Maersk McKinney Moller, Jess Soderberg, Bjarne Hansen and Knut Stubkjaer on the senior management board of the Danish transport and energy group.
Fjeldgaard will remain in charge of the oil and gas activities of the group. The areas of responsibilities of Thomsen have not yet been defined, a group spokesman said.
Thomsen, who has been president of Maersk Inc. since 1995, will go back to the group’s Copenhagen headquarters.
Thomas Thune Andersen, an executive vice president of A.P. Moller, who has headed Maersk organizations in the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Taiwan, will succeed Thomsen as president of Maersk Inc.
