Breakbulk and heavy-lift carrier AAL said it will tap northern Alberta’s oil-rich mining industry by expanding its Pacific liner service to include the Port of Prince Rupert.

Breakbulk and heavy-lift carrier AAL said it will tap northern Alberta’s oil-rich mining industry by expanding its Pacific liner service to include the Port of Prince Rupert.
The carrier made its first call at the western Canadian port on May 10. Going forward, the service will be monthly and include calls by AAL’s three 31,000-deadweight-ton heavy-lift vessels deployed on its Pacific service.
AAL also cited the Port of Prince Rupert’s efficient road and rail connections as reasons for calling the port.
