AFCO Shipping, a newly established cargo line based out of Miami, Fla., launched its first service last week between the United States and Central America.
The weekly, year-round loop sails between Port Everglades, Fla. and Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala, with inland trucking throughout Guatemala and El Salvador, the carrier said.
The 591-TEU Delphinus is the only vessel on the service.
AFCO Shipping, which has a strong presence in the agricultural and perishable industry, offers the transportation of containerized, break bulk, machinery and project cargo.
The carrier operates two container terminals, one located in Port Everglades and Puerto Barrios, Guatemala.
