Global logistics provider Agility recorded double-digit year-over-year increases in net profit and revenues during the second quarter of 2018 amid strong performance in both business segments.
Agility, the largest logistics company based in the Middle East, posted a net profit of KD 20 million (U.S. $66 million) on revenues of KD 384.2 million for the quarter, up 18.7 percent and 12.3 percent year-over-year, respectively.
Agility’s global integrated logistics segment — freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution and specialized services — had gross revenues of KD 289.3 million for the quarter, up 13.4 percent from last year’s second quarter. The segment saw a 14 percent year-over-year boost in air freight volumes during the quarter, while ocean freight volumes rose 8.2 percent.
Agility’s infrastructure group, which manages industrial real estate and offers logistics-related services, posted revenues of KD 97.5 million, up 9.5 percent from last year’s second quarter.
