Agility’s Q1 net profit jumps nearly 30 percent

The global logistics provider reported revenues rose 16 percent year-over-year.

   Agility’s net profit for the first quarter of 2018 jumped 29.8 percent year-over-year to KD 18.9 million (U.S. $62.5 million), the global logistics provider said Monday.
   Revenues rose 16 percent from last year’s first quarter to KD 371.8 million.
   Agility’s global integrated logistics segment posted revenues of KD 278.1 million, while its infrastructure companies recorded revenues of KD 98.8 million, up 15.7 percent and 20.7 percent year-over-year, respectively.
   “Agility is accelerating a fast-moving transformation to establish itself as a digital leader in the logistics industry,” said Tarek Sultan, Agility’s CEO and vice chairman. “We are rapidly introducing new digital products, aggressively piloting and pioneering new logistics models and technologies, and re-engineering our systems for speed and competitive advantage. We want to identify technology that makes logistics more efficient and lowers costs for customers.”
