Air China launches non-stop Shenzhen-Los Angeles flights

The new route is expected to reduce the journey time between Shenzhen and Los Angeles to just over 12 hours, Air China said.

Air China now has a new non-stop service between Shenzhen and Los Angeles.
The inaugural flight took off from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport on Dec. 7.
Air China said the new route is expected to reduce the journey time between Shenzhen and Los Angeles to just over 12 hours.
Operated under flight numbers CA769/70, the new route is scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Outbound flights depart from Shenzhen at 11:30 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 8:00 p.m. Inbound flights depart from Los Angeles at 10:50 p.m. and arrive in Shenzhen at 05:40 the following day. All times are local time.
“The new route now adds to Shenzhen’s growing portfolio of international long-haul routes and will help to promote economic and cultural exchange between southern China and the U.S. West Coast,” Air China said in a statement.
In recent years, the Chinese airline has been expanding its global route network to match central government strategies.
Meanwhile, Air China and partner Shenzhen Airlines have also been expanding Shenzhen’s international route network, with the backing of the Shenzhen Municipal Government.
In 2016, Air China partnered with Shenzhen Airlines to launch a new route between Shenzhen and Los Angeles via Beijing and a non-stop route between Shenzhen and Frankfurt, Germany.
The new services expanded Shenzhen’s international route network and helped spur the development of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, Air China said.
