Air France-KLM has opened a new cargo facility at JFK International Airport in New York.
The facility is designed to handle an array of cargo, including pharmaceuticals and live animals, in addition to general freight.
It offers “split cool chain” holding areas, with 2-8 degrees Celsius storage of 72 cubic meters and 15-25 degrees Celsius storage of 108 cubic meters. There will also be a 10 container charging spots, as well as a “bank strong” storage area of precious cargo.
In addition, the airline said there’s 50 percent more truck doors and ample room to maneuver 53-foot truck trailers.
