AIRBORNE DROPS LUFTHANSA FOR TNT
Airborne Express has extended its cooperation with TNT, the express
subsidiary of TNT Post Group, to include delivery of Airborne packages in
Europe.
Airborne severed its relationship with Lufthansa Cargo in March and
moved its European operations from Cologne, Germany, to Liege, Belgium,
where TNT operates its global express hub, an Airborne spokesman said.
Airborne already handles TNT’s business in the U.S. The two carriers
also cooperate on U.S./Europe air routes. Airborne’s former European
partner, Lufthansa, owns 25 percent of competitor DHL International.
