In March alone, the Russian cargo airline handled 51,000 metric tons of cargo, representing its best month ever for tonnage in the company’s 12-year history.
AirBridgeCargo Airlines transported over 132,000 metric tons of cargo during the first three months of 2016, a 27 percent increase from the corresponding period in 2015, the company said.
In March alone, the Russian cargo airline saw throughput soar 35 percent year-over-year to 51,000 metric tons, representing its best month ever for tonnage in its 12-year history.
Last year, AirBridgeCargo Airlines added Singapore, Hanoi, Helsinki, Los Angeles and Atlanta to its global network, in addition to increasing its Tokyo service to four flights per week.
“This year we will ‘shape up’ the services we started last year and plan on more investments in special services, including facilities and dedicated internal resources for customers moving pharmaceuticals and outsize cargoes,” AirBridgeCargo Airlines Executive President Denis Ilin said in a statement.
Since the start of 2016, the airline added Africa to its route network through a partnership with U.K.-based cargo airline CargoLogicAir. The twice-weekly routing goes from London-Stansted via Frankfurt to Libreville and onto Johannesburg, arriving back at Stansted via Nairobi. In addition, AirBridgeCargo Airlines added a third weekly frequency to Singapore from its hub in Moscow.
