The airfreight carrier attributed its growth in the first five months of 2015 primarily to expanding its network with new flights and increased frequencies.
AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) increased cargo volumes 16 percent in the first five months of 2015 compared with the first five months of 2014. The airfreight carrier handled 180,605 tons of cargo from January through May.
ABC said in a statement the strong performance can be attributed primarily to the expansion of the airline’s global network, which links Europe, Asia and the United States via Russia.
During the first five months of 2015, ABC launched twice weekly flights from Hanoi that connect with Europe and the U.S. via Hong Kong and flights from Los Angeles to connecting the U.S. West Coast with its global network.
In addition, the airline increased flight frequencies in existing markets, which now total 48 departures per week from Asia, 55 from Europe and 17 from the U.S..
ABC currently offers scheduled flights to 26 destinations in 14 countries using its fleet of 14 Boeing 747 family aircrafts.
“Every decision we take in ABC is aimed at satisfying our customers’ needs,” Executive President Denis Ilin said of the results. “Their growing support allowed us to be recognized as the ‘best all-cargo airline’ earlier this year and to continue outperforming the market with our FTK up 23.5% in the 5 months of 2015.”
