Airbus selects Stute for Laupheim logistics center

Airbus Deutschland has contracted Stute Verkehrs-GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of K'hne + Nagel, to operate its dedicated logistics center in Laupheim.

The 10,000 square-meter plant in Laupheim is under construction and is scheduled to be operational in the first half of 2006. When completed, the warehouse will have around 9,000 conventional storage spaces and 12,000 pallet slots in a mobile-racking system. Stute will be responsible for the dispatch of prefabricated components for the new Airbus A380 aircraft, the operation of the entire in-house transportation at the Laupheim plant, and the provision of logistics services for production equipment.

Airbus has previously outsourced two other logistics projects to Stute, in Hamburg and Bremen.
