Itasca, Ill.-based freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics has expanded its presence in the Midwest by adding a new office in Omaha, Neb.
The Omaha office includes two dozen employees and has a general purpose foreign trade zone warehouse. It adds a full service third-party logistics operation, a U.S. bonded facility and a Customs Examination Site (CES) for AIT at the city. The site is located minutes from Eppley Airfield and Omaha’s central business district.
“With their advanced development of trade show and convention material handling solutions, the office has also earned a reputation for special services expertise in a city that has become a leading Midwest convention destination,” AIT said.
The site is independently co-owned by Terry and Lori McMullen, a husband-and-wife team who went into business with each other 22 years ago.
“The fundamental reasons for an independent owner to become part of a large global organization are the people, the network, the connectivity and the buying power. With AIT, these pieces join together perfectly and allow us to present affordable solutions with exceptional supply chain visibility to our customers,” Terry McMullen said.
