Amazon unveils plans for its first Ohio fulfillment centers

The online retail giant will open two new fulfillment centers outside of Columbus, Ohio, the company’s first in the state.

Amazon.com, Inc. will open new fulfillment centers in Obetz, Ohio and Etna, Ohio, situated just outside of Columbus.
The Obetz fulfillment center will be located at the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park and is expected to be ready for occupancy in the third quarter of 2016, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority said. The center will encompass over one million square feet and be developed by Duke Realty, Amazon said.
Prologis will develop the Etna fulfillment center, which will be over 800,000 square feet.
Together, the two facilities will bring over 2,000 jobs to the region.
The two new fulfillment centers will be Amazon’s first fulfillment centers in the state of Ohio, Amazon’s vice president of North America operations Mike Roth said.
