AMERICAN AIRLINES CARGO STREAMLINES INTERNATIONAL TARIFF
American Airlines Cargo said it is streamlining its international rate structure, creating a new tariff with more common-rated destinations, effective Oct. 1.
The airline said the new rate structure, which applies to all customers with U.S. and/or Canadian exports, will no longer be eligible for the 5-percent International Air Transport Association commission. The tariff will show the exact cost of the shipment.
“Stating rates without commission, or net/net, will simplify our structure and make it easier for customers to evaluate our pricing,” said Carolyn Gibson, American Airlines Cargo manager of pricing. “It also aligns American Airlines with other carriers' commission practices.”
