AMERICAN AIRLINES PILOTS FINED $45.5 MILLION
A U.S. district judge in Texas has ordered the Allied Pilots Association
to pay American Airlines $45.5 million for staging an illegal labor action.
Thousands of American pilots called in sick for more than a week in
February, costing the airline more than $200 million from canceled flights.
The Texas court awarded American compensation for the days the union
allegedly ignored a back-to-work order. The APA said it would appeal the
decision.
Delta Air Lines said it collected up to $35 million in the first quarter
