AMERICAN GLOBAL TO SWAP PACIFIC FOR ATLANTIC
New York-based American Global Logistics Inc. said that it will discontinue its transpacific multipurpose service in May, when its new Atlantic service is scheduled to start.
Two ‘tweendecker vessels currently operating on its U.S. Gulf/Asia service will be switched to the planned fortnightly transatlantic service.
The repositioning of the multipurpose vessels will begin when “Global America” leaves the transpacific service and enters the transatlantic service, provisionally on May 10.
The shipping line expects that full repositioning of the vessels will have been completed by June.
The rotation of the bi-monthly transpacific service is Houston, Port Canaveral, Baltimore, New York, Merak, Singapore, Surabaya, Merak, Houston, Port Canaveral, Baltimore and New York.
As yet no port rotation has been announced for the new transatlantic service.
