AMERIJET INTERNATIONAL OPENS GRENADA HUB
Amerijet International Inc., the all-cargo airline serving the Caribbean, Latin America and Mexico, has opened a South Caribbean cargo hub at Port Salines International Airport in St. Georges, Grenada.
The hub enables Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Amerijet to provide daily direct service connecting Grenada, Port of Spain, Trinidad, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Barbados and Dominica to the global market, said Pamela Rollins, senior vice president of business development.
'the new service is part of a regional development plan by Amerijet to increase frequency with this cluster of destinations and to further develop the region with new routes being served daily or at least with higher frequency than our previous routing via the Boeing jet aircraft allowed,' Rollins said. The Southern Caribbean hub will employ Dash-7 aircraft, with a capacity of 11,500 pounds. Amerijet also operates a fleet of 727-200 aircraft, which offer 60,000 pounds of capacity.
