AMI centralizes Spot Rates department

The U.S. arm of AMI, a large air freight and express space wholesaler, has centralized its Spot Rates department at its U.S. headquarters in Dallas.
The action replaces separate, smaller operations in its other offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
The new department has four full-time staff, headed by Cesar Fausto, who has relocated from Los Angeles, the company said.
“Centralizing this function makes better use of our resources, enabling us to handle a larger volume of enquiries and provide faster feedback to our customers,” said Peter Weir, AMI’s senior vice president in the United States, in a statement. “It also means we can pool our business, leverage our buying power better, and offer keener rates.”
