AMI expands in Australia/New Zealand

Air freight consolidator AMI has opened offices in Darwin, Australia, and Christchurch, New Zealand.
Darwin, the capital of northern Australia, is experiencing a surge in freight business to accommodate large energy extraction projects, such as liquefied natural gas.
“The new AMI office will provide freight agents at Australia’s gateways with a local presence in Darwin that will avoid the necessity to operate their own offices,” the company said in a statement.
AMI’s Christchurch office will operate as a satellite to its Auckland facility. AMI Christchurch will provide export and import consolidations via major gateways including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Los Angeles, Chicago, London and key Asian hubs.
From both locations, AMI will also offer inbound and outbound ocean freight services.
