Anheuser-Busch settles N.J. warehouse safety violations

A Jersey City, N.J. warehouse operation of Anheuser-Busch Inbev has reached a settlement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to improve safety.

Anheuser-Busch Sales of New Jersey, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch Inbev, has reached a settlement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to improve safety at its warehouse operation.
The federal agency found in December 2014 numerous workplace safety violations at the company’s Jersey City warehouse, including untrained forklift operators, blocked exit routes, damaged storage racks and insufficient chemical hazard communication training.
While the company contested the citations on Dec. 23, 2015, it reached a settlement with OSHA, as well as paid a $150,000 fine, to improve the safety at its Jersey City warehouse operation, as well as another in Bronx, N.Y.
“This settlement commits Anheuser-Busch to making safety a priority for workers at its New Jersey and New York distributorships,” Robert Kulick, OSHA’s regional administrator in New York, said in a statement.
