ANSETT, AIR NEW ZEALAND JOIN STAR ALLIANCE
Ansett Australia and Air New Zealand have joined the Star Alliance of
airlines.
The Star Alliance’s airline members operate over most of the globe. The
alliance has concentrated primarily on passenger traffic, although members
say cooperation on cargo is likely later.
Existing Star Alliance members are Air Canada, Lufthansa, SAS, Thai,
United and Varig. All Nippon Airways of Japan will join in October.
