ANZDL INTRODUCES INTERNET BOOKING SERVICE
Australia-New Zealand Direct Line has launched an online booking service which allows shippers to generate a live booking by connecting directly to its backroom software.
ANZDL said that it is the first carrier to offer such as service. Other ocean carrier sites only enable shippers to send an e-mail request to their customer service department, while ANZDL’s online service is integrated with its actual booking module, the carrier said.
ANZDL said that it sends to the shipper making an online booking a booking number and confirmation immediately on the screen, as well as via a separate e-mail.
“Instead of generating an e-mail to customer service who then have to re-input the information, which takes time, we’ve created a front end on the web connected to our existing back-room booking software system,” said Marc Boyer-Chammard, ANZDL’s vice president of information systems.
The new online booking service is available at www.myanzdl.com.
