APL Logistics helps EMD in India

   APL Logistics said it has opened a 50,000-square-foot production and warehousing facility for Electro-Motive Diesel Inc., a global manufacturer of locomotives, in Gurgaon, India.
   The logistics arm of ocean carrier APL is extending its existing relationship with EMD to support the assembly of locomotive components and the storage and distribution of aftermarket service parts at the site, located in the second largest city in the state of Haryana.
   APL Logistics helped EMD, LaGrange, Ill., with site selection, design and setup.
   APL Logistics manages global distribution of service parts for EMD from facilities in Hodgkins, Ill.; London; Ontario; and North Platte, Neb.
