APL PROMOTES SAPPIO, HINGE

    Robert F. Sappio has been promoted vice president and managing
director, Central Asia, by APL.
    Sappio, who was previously vice president and managing
director of the Eastern Region, North America, will be responsible for APL’s sales,
marketing and operating activities throughout China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan
    J. Peter Hinge has been appointed to succeed Sappio as vice president
and managing director, Eastern Region, North America. Based in New York. he will be
responsible for sales, marketing and operating activities in the Northeastern U.S.
    Hinge was previously vice president of pricing, based in Oakland.
