Arnold heads Woodland’s air freight

The Woodland Group, a logistics services provider, has appointed Paul Arnold as head of air freight at Woodland Global.
Arnold will develop routes to North America and opportunities in Asia and other developing markets.
He started his career in 1991 at London Heathrow, where he worked as cargo handling manager for KLM. Rejoining the KLM group in 1998, he became managing director for the Cargo Service Center in Germany, a third party air cargo handling operation. He later became managing director of Swissport Cargo Services U.K., and then chief executive officer of Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal management of India. Before joining Woodland, Arnold worked for SKA Group as chief technical officer.
Earlier this year, Woodland won the air freight prize at the British International Freight Association’s Freight Services Awards after impressing judges with a management plan that resulted in air cargo volumes for the company increasing more than 300 percent in 12 months.
Woodland’s plan involved streamlining the number of air carriers used to secure more competitive rates, targeting dense freight such as printed material and introducing a new account management structure. New markets were added to Woodland’s air freight portfolio, offering services to and from India, Brazil and China, among others.
