Mobile, Ala.-based ASF Intermodal has opened an intermodal drayage facility in Chicago, the firm’s first location in the Midwest.
The new Chicago terminal is the first of several Midwest terminals the company plans to open over the next 12 months.
Paul Heyder will manage the terminal, which will begin with two office employees and expects to add 20 owner-operator drivers within its first three months of operations.
The company already has more than 200 trucks on the road, working out of terminals in Mobile, Ala.; Atlanta and Savannah, Ga.; Charleston, S.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Houston; and Memphis, Tenn.
