ATLAS PILOTS VOTE TO JOIN UNION
The pilots and crew of Atlas Air, the Colorado-based wet-lease all-cargo
airline, have voted for union representation by the Air Line Pilots
Association.
Although the vote is clearly a blow to Atlas management, the airline
said it expects no negative changes to its cost structure or customer
service levels. The airline will enter into collective bargaining with the
pilot’s union to set compensation levels.
Atlas pilots are no longer eligible to participate in the airline’s
profit-sharing program, which allocated more than $8 million to pilots last
year.
