Averitt expands Kentucky, Ohio warehouses
Averitt Express has expanded its warehouse operations in Lexington, Ky., and Cincinnati to meet customer needs for 'flexible' shared warehouse space.
'As the U.S. economy begins to improve, companies are looking for flexible warehousing options to accommodate spiking inventory levels,' said Phil Pierce, the company's executive vice president of sales and marketing. 'The Lexington and Cincinnati markets are ideal locations for shippers needing space for storage, processing and distribution between the Northeast and the rest of the country.'
He added Averitt provides a variety of warehousing options to shippers without long-term contracts.
Averitt, based in Cookeville, Tenn., has provided dedicated warehousing services for more than 10 years. The company provides value-added warehousing and distribution services for companies in multiple markets, including medical devices, apparel and automotive. It also provides international distribution services, including container transloading.
Averitt plans to make more investments to enhance its warehousing capabilities and capacity, Pierce said.
