BAX GLOBAL NAMES VPS FOR INTERNATIONAL, LATIN AMERICAN OPERATIONS
BAX Global, the air freight and logistics division of The Pittston Co., has promoted Mark Mazza to vice president and general manager of U.S. international operations; Rick Whitaker to vice president of international gateways; and Greg Davis to vice president of Latin America operations.
Mazza's role is to expand international forwarding business in the United States by improving cost control, quality and customer satisfaction. He has worked with BAX for more than 20 years as international vice president for the western region, international manager of the San Francisco region and international manager of San Diego operations.
Whitaker, who reports to Mazza, has responsibility for increasing operational efficiency at BAX's hubs. The gateways will remain under their current reporting structure, but Whitaker will lead an initiative to develop standard operating procedures.
He has been with BAX for 12 years, serving as international vice president of the central division, director of strategic lift planning, general manager of gateways, Chicago district manager and Chicago gateway manager. Before joining BAX he worked for Airborne Freight Corp. as gateway manager, cartage manager and district operations manager.
Davis' position was newly created by the company. He oversees BAX's gateway and perishables facilities in Miami. He has been with BAX for 21 years, serving as district sales manager, district manager, district operating manager, director of Latin America and Caribbean services, international vice president of eastern division.
