BDP LAUNCHES DATA WAREHOUSE ON THE WEB

BDP International will allow shippers to track and compile their shipment information through a new Web-based data warehouse tool.

“BDPData will provide parties involved in a cargo move or transaction the means to easily access or share critical shipment information in a secure, single-source environment,” said the Philadelphia-based logistics company.

Information, stored by BDPData, includes itemized purchase order/commercial-invoicing data, and expanded to include data related to shipments, customs clearance (duty and taxes) and delivery. All data elements will be available for analytical or historic reporting.

BDPData will allow PC and laptop users to manipulate or customize their own information online, either as data tables or graphic charts, or to download selected data to Microsoft Excel or other programs.

“Operating at a global level, BDPData will empower BDP customers and trading partners to access critical data elements involved in the movement of goods,” said Richard J. Bolte Jr., president of BDP.

BDPData also complements two other Web-based customer tools that BDP released earlier this year: BDPTrax, an online global tracking system, and BDPCustomerCorrect, a direct access to customer service specialists to correct shipment problems.
