Bechtel chooses Antwerp for North Europe multi-project cargo hub
Global engineering, construction and project management company Bechtel, headquartered in San Francisco, has selected the Port of Antwerp in Belgium as its multi-project cargo hub in North Europe.
Bechtel has appointed the Antwerp unit of Dutch logistics firm C. Steinweg as its partner for marshalling project equipment and materials in Northern Europe for transport to projects worldwide.
Well-known Bechtel projects include the Channel Tunnel, the Athens metro, the restoration of Kuwait’s oil fields after the Gulf War, and the provision of emergency housing after Hurricane Katrina in the United States.
