Paul R. Bergent, who recently retired as president of intermodal and chief marketing officer for J.B. Hunt Transportation Services, was named the winner of the Intermodal Association of North America’s Silver Kingpin Award.
He will be presented the award on Nov. 12 during IANA’s Intermodal Expo in Anaheim, Calif.
The award honors life-time achievement in the intermodal industry.
J.B. Hunt was one of the early adopters of a hybrid rail-truck service and Bergent played a major role developing the company’s service to meet customers’ need for reliability. Intermodal is now the fastest growing sector of the rail industry.
IANA also acknowledged Bergent’s mentoring of young logistics professionals and his work as a guest lecturer at the Intermodal Transportation Institute at the University of Denver.
