Blume Global is recognizing partners and customers that epitomize the best in innovation and customer focus among trucking companies in the supply chain with its new Blume Global Ambassador Program.
The company said Ambassadors are thought leaders that are interested in leveraging technology to advance the industry. Blume Global Ambassadors supply crucial feedback to Blume Global’s product development team, helping it navigate trends, challenges and successes to develop innovative solutions that aid all Blume Global companies in overcoming the obstacles they face daily.
The inaugural members of the Blume Ambassador Program include Alltrans, C&N Deliveries, Cargo Express International, Cougar Couriers, JAS Trucking, Lovatt Transport, MV Hudarin Service and United Freight & Logistics.
“Blume Global Ambassadors have proven their commitment to advancing the shipping industry and supply chain community as a whole by leveraging technology to digitize their part in the supply chain ecosystem. Ninety percent of trucking companies worldwide have less than 30 trucks and lack the resources to digitize their operations,” said Pervinder Johar, CEO of Blume Global. “We have made it our mission to provide them with the technology they need to improve operations, enhance visibility throughout the supply chain journey, and strengthen relationships between the trucking industry and the customers and facilities they rely on.”
Glenn Jones, Blume Global’s senior vice president of product strategy, told FreightWaves that companies are chosen based on criteria that includes electronic tender acceptance rate, reporting real-time status including pickup, drop-off and issues, submitting electronic proof of delivery within 30 minutes of actual delivery, on-time delivery, and invoice accuracy.
“Those chosen have the opportunity to represent the Blume Global Ambassador brand through thought leadership, lending their voices to key Blume channels and offering crucial feedback to the Blume product development team on a requested basis,” Jones said.
Blume has built its business by recognizing the role trucking companies play in international freight movement. Its platform allows everyone from shippers to third-party logistics providers to ocean carriers to have a single point of connectivity to their domestic and international network of trucking companies. Similarly, the trucking companies have the same single connectivity to all of their customers.
Blume CarrierGo, used by many of the Ambassadors, provides thousands of trucking companies with the ability to digitize their operations, enabling more efficient use of assets, communicating digitally with customers to accept tenders, manage documents, schedule appointments, provide real-time tracking with electronic proof of delivery, and send digital invoices.
Jones noted that Ambassadors have the chance to beta test potential new releases on the CarrierGo platform. Joining the program is important, he explained, as companies need to have a “solid digital foundation before worrying about implementing” artificial intelligence, machine learning or other digital advancements.
“According to a recent survey of shipping and freight professionals, 67% responded that they will invest in new supply chain technologies due to the current pandemic and its impact on supply chain operations,” Jones pointed out. “As the call for a more digitized supply chain continues to grow louder from customers and competition, supply chain organizations are in need of additional support to make this digitization a reality. Establishing this community of supply chain thought leaders will help to promote this need and establish how to reconfigure supply chains so they meet this increasing demand.”
